The Town of Essex hires new Finance Director
The Town of Essex is proud to announce the hiring of Daniel Roy as the new Finance Director. Dan has spent the last 7 years working as a Senior Accountant for Burlington Electric Department. Dan brings more than 25 years of financial experience with several of those years spent working in the municipal realm. Dan previously worked 5 years for Sullivan, Powers & Company where he conducted municipal audits and he has performed consulting work for the City of Burlington. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Vermont and is a Certified Public Accountant.
"I am proud to be joining the dedicated team of the Town of Essex as the new Finance Director. I look forward to helping the Town through its unique transformation in relation to the Village/City of Essex Junction. I am energized by the level of commitment shown by staff members that I have met in order to maintain the quality of life in this community. "said Dan Roy.
Dan was hired out of many qualified candidates following a competitive search and interview process.
“I’m thrilled that Dan will be joining the Town of Essex. Dan has shown that he’s a great colleague, and he’ll be joining the Essex team at an important time as we transition into a new normal without the Village of Essex Junction,” said Essex Town Manager Greg Duggan. Dan’s past work with municipalities and his experience with auditing and accounting will help ensure we are on solid financial footing going forward.”
Dan will start in his new role on August 29, 2022.
