Indian Brook Camping
To camp at Indian Brook Reservoir please stop by the Gate House on your way into the reservoir or stop by/call our main office at 878-1342 to reserve your spot.
Indian Brook Campsite Rates 2023:
Essex Resident $20.00 per campsite per night
Non-Essex Resident: $25.00 per campsite per night
Camping is available from May through August.
INDIAN BROOK CAMPING FACILITIES RULES & REGULATIONS
Camping is permitted at designated campsites only.
-Tent/hammock camping only. 1 tent per campsite as tenting is only allowed on the 12x12 platform.
-Campsite are approximately 1/4 mile walk from parking lot.
-No more than five (5) people, regardless of age, may occupy one camp site.
-Reservation receipt must be displayed on the dash of the vehicle.
The designated ‘Renter’ must be at least 18 years of age and is responsible for the conduct of all campers and visitors on the site. Campsites shall be kept in a neat and clean condition at all times.
Amenities: composting latrine (near campsite 3) and port-a-let (in the parking lot).
Trash & Waste: All waste and trash is the camper’s responsibility and must be disposed of at proper locations through a Carry In/Carry Out policy. Urinating, defecating, or disposing of human waste shall be in facilities designated for that purpose only. Glass containers of any kind are strictly prohibited.
Fires: All fires must be attended to and under control at all times. Fires must be built in the designated fire pits only. No firecrackers or other explosive devices shall be displayed or discharged. Campers using fire pits must provide their own clean/dry wood. Only wood purchased locally is permitted as firewood in order to mitigate the spread of Invasive Species.
General visitor conduct: Acts endangering others, disorderly conduct, intoxication, or otherwise obscene language will not be tolerated. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Damage & Vandalism: Removal of, cutting, peeling, defacing, writing upon, destroying, or damaging any building, sign, plant, animal, rock, or other natural or manmade structures or objects within the area is strictly forbidden. CUTTING DOWN TREES will result in a $200.00 fine per tree. No plant may be uprooted or cut without a written permit. Using soap is not allowed in any surface waters in, or adjacent to, Indian Brook Reservoir.
Smoking & Alcohol: Alcohol and regulated drugs are prohibited (including e-cigarettes, vapes, and all smokeless tobacco products) and will not be brought into or used at Indian Brook Reservoir.
Pets: During the operating season, campers may bring domesticated or trained animals to designated camping areas. Pet owners are required to repair and are responsible for damage caused by their animals including digging and defecation.
Cancellation: The rental fee will not be refunded if notice is received less than one week prior to the reservation start date. All cancellations must be processed through the office (81 Main Street, Essex Junction, (802) 878-1342).
Conformance with the Law: All affairs will be conducted in accordance with all laws, rules, regulations, ordinances (including those relating to alcohol consumption and noise), and this agreement. Illegal activity of any kind shall not be engaged in.
LIABILITY: Renter agrees to hold the Town, its officers, agents, and employees harmless from any loss or liability which may result from claims of injury to persons or property from any cause arising out of or during the use and occupancy of the Facility.
