"No Other Lake" film screening and panel discussion with film directors and Essex locals Jordan Rowell and Duane Peterson III. The 40-minute documentary film celebrates Lake Champlain and confronts its challenges. This event is sponsored by the Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) and T-Rex Productions. VNRC experts will be a part of the post screening panel to discuss what policies are being debated and implemented to address pollution in the lake. Find out how you can be involved! Spartan race sampler -Free session. One week ago, Fit2Excel brought a group of 18 racers through the Killington Sprint and Beast. Today, they will have a sample training session with access to climbing walls, ropes, cargo nets, carries, tire flips, rings and monkey bars. They will also have a challenge course for you to experience. Come and learn the aspects of these elements and see what a Spartan Race is like!

This class will consist of about 45 minutes of field instruction and then a 45-minute ride to put your new skills to use. Please register for the CLINIC on SATURDAY. At the recent Caribbean Carnival at The Essex Experience, people were joyfully dancing to the upbeat sound of SOCA music. SOCA, the Soul of Calypso transcends age, cultures, and borders - no one is immune to its captivating energy. Watch Vermont and the world fall in love with this euphoric music!

The Smokey Newfield Project  will delight you with their rich vocal harmonies and varied instrumentation featuring Bill Valliere, aka Smokey Newfield on guitar, Cathy Cameron-Muscente on guitar and bass, Tom Chadwick on drums and Laura Chadwick on keyboard/melodica, violin, bass, mandolin and guitar. They cover an eclectic mix of folk rock, classic rock, country, pop and anything else that tickles their musical sensibilities.

Barbacoa entertains you as a three piece surf rock combo with a large repertoire of original and cover material (mostly drawn form the 50’s/60’s/70’s).They are known for their energetic live shows and have been playing in and around Vermont for over two decades, releasing three albums of original songs.

The Lloyd Tyler Band takes the stage. Using a mix of drums, guitar, bass, and harmonica, the group draws from folk, country, rock, blues, and Americana genres to bring a blend of covers that folks know and want to sing along - interspersed with Zack's folk-inspired originals. Musical influences include Van Morrison, Ray Lamontagne, Chris Stapleton, U2, the Avett Brothers, Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, Sublime, Tom Petty, Bob Marley and The Band.

Jahwize keeps the party going. Jahwize is a music producer and DJ playing sets comprised of a large amount of original music, with some favorites from other producers thrown in. Listen to everything from Deep Dubstep, to Drum & Bass, to old school Hip-Hop with performances at Higher Ground recently, and many other venues in the state and around New England. 

Howling Waters - don't miss this performance! Bring some dancing shoes for this acoustic/electric blues-based trio with bass/guitar/harmonica/washboard/vocals (sometimes keys). Howling Waters plays their own arrangements of classic blues and rock tunes. Have fun with this back porch- style pickin' n grinnin'.
